This tour is about visiting the most important inca sites along the Sacred Valley of the Incas because the Willcamayu (sacred) river flows by which was worshiped and related to the Milky Way.
We start from the Main Square of Cusco at 9:00 heading to Pisac along the highlands of Cusco passing by small villages located almost on the slope of the mountains and surrounded by fields of corn, potatoes, barley, etc. only grown in the rainy season to stop at the look out of Taray to see the corn plantations and the Willcamayu river flowing along the Sacred Valley where it is produced the biggest grain of corn in the world (there are 1000 species of corn in Peru) to keep going down into the Pisac town and uphill to Pisac the archeological site to have a guided tour for almost 1 hour walking by the cemetery, stone walls built on the top of this hills and down to the religious area of stone by stone fitted together style and the terraces surrounding all the area of Pisac, this one could be called the second Machu Picchu due its location.
We will take the bus down to Pisac town where you have 30 minutes to buy some souvenirs in this traditional market where the local people are still practicing the old bartering system mainly on Sunday when the traditional market is set.
After Pisac town you will go by bus along the Sacred Valley having a nice view of the corn plantations and the Urubamba river passing by a few towns like Lamay, Calca and Urubamba, the lunch place.
After lunch we'll go by bus to Ollantaytambo "one of the oldest living inca city" encompassed by narrow stone streets and water canals still in use to visit the religious area built on the slope of the mountain comprised of beautiful perfectly fitted stones of giant sizes like the 6 monolith, stone walls and niches, all this stone were taken from the other side of the mountain the Cachicata quarries.
We will go by bus again up to the 3800 m, 12467 ft. the location of Chinchero to see a few remains of terraces and religious inca walls where the spaniards built a catholic church to be seen too.
After this area you will go back to Cusco please always enjoy the magnificent views of glaciers, mountains and growing areas where the farming communities are still practicing the subsistence farming because they still wait for the rainy season to have only one harvest a year.
